Manchester City have already secured their place in the Champions League round of 16. They won all four matches they played in Group G and lead the standings with 12 points, 3 more than RB Leipzig. But the German side still have a chance to overtake them and take the first place, which will allow them to have a theoretically easier game in the next phase.

That's why the Citizens need to get at least a draw this Tuesday at Ettihad Stadium to secure the group leadership. Moreover, that will allow them to relax in the last match, which will be on December 13 against Red Star Belgrade in Serbia, and focus their efforts on the Premier League, where they lost the first place last weekend.

But that will not be their only objective on Tuesday. Erling Haaland also has a mission: to become the top scorer in the Champions League 2023/24. So far he has netted 4 goals, as have Antoine Griezmann, Evanilson and Harry Kane. They are all in second place, behind Alvaro Morata and Rasmus Hojlund, who scored 5.

Coach Pep Guardiola decided that the starting lineup will be: Stefan Ortega; Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol; Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Rico Lewis, Manuel Akanji, Phil Foden; Jack Grealish, Erling Haaland. Substitutes will be Ederson, Scott Carson, Nathan Ake, John Stones, Kalvin Phillips, Sergio Gomez, Oscar Bobb, Jeremy Doku and Julian Alvarez.

They, too, are at ease

Although it is unlikely that they will be able to "steal" the first place in the group standings from Manchester City, RB Leipzig are satisfied with their performance in this Champions League phase. They won 3 of the 4 matches they played and have already secured their place in the round of 16. Coach Marco Rose chose this XI: Janis Blaswich; Mohamed Simakan, Lukas Klostermann, Castello Lukeba, David Raum; Nicolas Seiwald, Xavi Simons, Amadou Haidara, Xaver Schlager, Emil Forsberg; Lois Openda. Also on the bench will be Peter Gulacsi, Benjamin Henrichs, Christopher Lenz, Fabio Carvalho, Christoph Baumgartner, Kevin Kampl, Yussuf Poulsen and Benjamin Sesko.
