Inter Miami announced first game of 2024: where and when will we see Messi again?

Inter Miami are preparing to face a very demanding 2024. They have become the most popular team in America since Lionel Messi accepted David Beckham's proposal and joined the team in July of this year. Things went well since his arrival and they won the first title in their history, the Leagues Cup, but then failed to enter the Major League Soccer playoffs.

Now the goal is to improve on last season's performance. That is why coach Gerardo Martino and the club's chiefs are working to sign top players to help improve the team. Luis Suarez will be the first to join, while other stars could follow suit, such as Ivan Rakitic, Luka Modric and David De Gea.

The return to training will be during the second week of January, once the players return from their vacations. However, they will have to wait much longer to start competing, as Major League Soccer will start at the end of February or in March. That is why The Herons decided to arrange some friendly matches before that.

This week they announced what will be their first game of the year: on February 4 they will play in Hong Kong against a team with the best players of that country's league. And a day before they will have a training session open to the public. Tickets for both events will be on sale from December 15.

Not the only friendly

Once they return from Asia, Inter Miami will have another match: they will face Newell's Old Boys at the DRV PNK Stadium in Miami on February 17. The choice of the opposing team is not random. It is the club that Lionel Messi is a fan of and played for as a child before leaving Argentina for Barcelona at the age of 13. Gerardo Martino is also one of Newell's legends, as he was champion there several times, both as player and coach.
