The purchase of Paris Saint-Germain by the sheikhs turned it into one of the most powerful teams in the world. That atypical edition of the tournament was played normally during the group stage, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced changes for the following stages: from the quarter-finals onwards, the clashes went to a single match in Lisbon. There, PSG beat Atalanta and Leipzig and qualified to play in the final for the first time, against Bayern Munich. The French team could not prevail against the Germans and lost 1-0.

The coach of the Parisians was Thomas Tuchel, who continued in charge of the team the following season and, after failing to repeat the performances and results of the previous year, was fired. However, before leaving, he did something that surprised everyone.

During his stay in France, Tuchel lived with his wife. There, they hired a Filipina maid, with whom they formed a good bond. Eventually they found out that the woman was working to pay for an operation on her son's heart. The trainer offered to pay for the treatment and the boy was able to recover.

A gift before he left

That wasn't the only thing Tuchel did for the Filipino woman, as before he was fired by PSG, he asked her what her biggest dream was. The answer was that she wished to return to the Philippines and be able to build a house to live in with her family. The dream was fulfilled by the German coach, who bought her a luxurious house in her native country, allowing her to return and settle with her family.
