PSG is ready to sign their new reinforcement for the next season

Paris Saint-Germain is already working on assembling their squad for the 2023-2024 season. The team from the French capital has several fronts open, but they have already taken significant steps to improve their team. In addition to the imminent signing of Marco Asensio on a free transfer once his contract with Real Madrid expires, the Parisians are also making progress on another front.

According to A Bola, PSG is close to signing one of the young sensations of Portuguese football. They are targeting 22-year-old Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who played 47 official matches for Sporting Portugal last season.

Ugarte, who has been capped 8 times for Uruguay, had been linked with several top international clubs and seemed to be very close to joining Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea. However, the midfielder has ultimately decided to accept the French offer, and PSG will be the one to secure the prize.

In this way, once an agreement is reached with the player, the Ligue 1 champions will pay the 60 million EUR corresponding to Ugarte's release clause with the Portuguese club, and the signing is expected to be completed imminently.
