No one can say for sure what will happen to Kylian Mbappé once this season ends. His contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires on June 30, 2024 and he has already publicly announced that he has no intention of activating the automatic extension clause until 2025. Since then the club's owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has tried everything to change his mind, but to no avail.
Rumors indicate that 'Kiki' intends to become a free agent so that he can negotiate with other clubs and leave France next year. Real Madrid seem to be the favorites to sign him, although it will not be easy for them either. Despite arriving for free, the striker is one of the most expensive players in the world and the Spanish side would have to offer him a fortune to convince him, tripling the salaries of the main stars of the squad.
With this scenario, PSG are still not giving up and are still trying to change his mind. According to TyC Sports, they have two aces up their sleeves with which they hope to seduce Kylian to stay at least one more season at the club.
The first one is the Olympic Games to be held in Paris in 2024. The French National Team will compete for the gold medal and, although the team will be composed of U-23 players, three seniors will be able to join. Clubs are not obliged by FIFA to allow their players to go, but if PSG are willing to let him participate, it could be a deciding factor for Mbappé.
The second ace up PSG's sleeve is to seduce Kylian with an individual record. He has scored 179 goals in Ligue 1, between AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain. That places him among the top 10 scorers in the history of the tournament. And he is not far behind Argentine Delio Onnis, who leads the ranking with 299. Perhaps, if he stays a few more years in France, Mbappé can surpass him.
