Jadon Sancho played his last game for Manchester United at the end of August, in the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford. Just a week later, coach Erik Ten Hag decided not to call him up for the visit to Arsenal and, when asked about this at the press conference afterwards, claimed it was due to the player's performances during training.
This caused Sancho's anger, who minutes later shared a message on social media accusing the Dutch manager of being a liar. This was considered unacceptable disrespect for the club's chiefs, who decided to punish him by removing him from the squad and sending him to train with United's academy.
Since then he has not returned to the first team and his future at the club is incompatible with Ten Hag. That is why the Red Devils' intention is to negotiate his departure during the January transfer window; if possible by selling him to recoup at least a portion of the $90 million they paid for him in 2021, and if not, by loaning him out.
Several clubs have emerged over the past few weeks interested in signing Jadon. Borussia Dortmund is one of them. There he excelled for several years and showed excellent performances. Also RB Leipzig and Juventus. And even Barcelona, who are looking for a winger to compete with Raphinha, Joao Felix, Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres. But all of them withdrew from the negotiations as soon as they knew Sancho's salary at Manchester United.
According to Sport newspaper, Jadon Sancho has a salary of $430,000 a week at Manchester United, that is, more than $22 million a year. This is an amount impossible to pay for most clubs in the world, especially Barcelona, who have problems with financial fair play.
