The Saudi Arabian league is here to stay. If anyone thought they were only going to surprise fans around the world with the signing of a few stars and nothing else, they were wrong. Over the last few months, more and more top players are choosing to imitate Cristiano Ronaldo and leave Europe to accept the multi-million dollar offers of the Pro League.

Karim Benzema left Real Madrid to play for Al-Ittihad, Riyad Mahrez swapped Manchester City for Al-Ahli, Jordan Henderson is no longer Liverpool's skipper, but is now wearing the shirt of Al-Ettifaq and Neymar is earning a fortune at Al-Hilal. The world soccer map has completely changed and many are still not comfortable with that idea.

Saudi Arabia's most recent signing is likely to be Gabri Veiga. The Spanish midfielder excelled last season at Celta Vigo with 11 goals in 36 games and caught the attention of Europe's top teams. In fact, he was very close to signing with Napoli. But in the last few hours he received an impressive offer from Al-Ahli that made him change his mind, so his future is probably in the Pro League.

This caused everyone's surprise. Among them, Toni Kroos. Journalist Fabrizio Romano posted on his Instagram account information about the negotiations between Al-Ahli and Veiga, and the Real Madrid midfielder responded: "embarrasing".

He is not the only one who gave his opinion

Rafa Benítez, Celta's coach, also expressed his thoughts on the sale of Veiga: “The Arab market has decided to put a lot of money on the table for players who were untouchable in the big teams. When you touch the small ones nothing happens, but when you touch the big ones people get more nervous. My experience in Italy and, fundamentally, in England, helps me to give my opinion. If we want the Spanish league to be the biggest, we are now far behind the Premier League and it hurts me to say that”.
