Manchester City group would be ready to complete another major move from River Plate in the next few weeks after the successful arrival of Julian Alvarez in 2021, which has provided brilliant moments to the fans of the Citizen and a considerable number of titles to the Mancunian institution.
In this sense, Manchester City would be now really close to signing the 17-year-old striker Claudio Echeverri from River Plate, who could become the third young Argentinian to sign for Pep Guardiola’s side, following in the footsteps of Julian Alvarez and Maximo Perrone.
According to the Italian journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City would be in the last stages of the negotiations for Echeverri, and a deal for him could be announced in the next few days, as the Citizen would have already set their conditions to seal the arrival of the Argentine playmaker.
Following these sources, the Mancunian club would have decided to complete a transfer for the Argentine player, who would be sent straight out on loan from the club in the January transfer window, including a possible temporary return to River Plate as the club already did in their negotiations for Julian Alvarez. According to the information, the transfer fee to be paid by City would ascend to 25-28 million, and Pep Guardiola could finally have “a new Messi” at Manchester City, as Echeverri is described by football experts as a ‘generational number 10’ with ‘nobody better at his age’.
