Real Madrid has officially confirmed today what was already an open secret, Fran García becomes a new player for the Merengue club, signing a contract until 2027. The talented left-back will be presented next Monday at 12:00.
After three years of growth and standout performances at Rayo Vallecano, Fran García returns to the club where he was formed as a footballer. Under the guidance of Andoni Iraola, he became a key player for the team, playing a total of 72 matches in the top category of Spanish football.
At 23 years old, Fran García has already had the opportunity to wear the Real Madrid shirt. He made his debut with the first team in a Copa del Rey match during the 2018/2019 season against Melilla, where he even provided an assist. Subsequently, he spent two seasons at Real Madrid Castilla, the reserve team, after going through various youth categories since joining the club in 2013 when he joined Cadete B.
After seven successful seasons in the Real Madrid academy, the left-back joined Rayo Vallecano in 2020, where he played a crucial role in the team's promotion to LaLiga. During the last season, García played 40 matches and scored 2 goals wearing the Vallecano shirt.
With the addition of Fran García, Real Madrid solidifies the left side of their defense, a position that has suffered due to Ferland Mendy's injuries, the only specialist in that position in the squad. Additionally, versatile players like Álvaro Odriozola or Nacho Fernández have also had to occasionally play the role of full-back, highlighting the need to have a specific player for that position.
