Chelsea has announced through its Twitter account the signing of talented forward Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig. The transfer has been completed for a fee close to 60 million EUR, and the player has signed a contract that will keep him at the London club until 2029.

After a period of restructuring in the team, which is expected to see significant departures such as N'Golo Kanté and Edouard Mendy, Chelsea continues with its squad renewal plan. With the addition of Nkunku, the club aims to strengthen its forward line and compensate for a possible departure of Romelu Lukaku, as well as the return of Joao Félix to Atlético Madrid after his loan spell.

Nkunku's signing is a Chelsea's bet to return to European competition after a disappointing season. The player will bring a great finishing ability, versatility to adapt to different positions, and notable dribbling skills. During the past season with Leipzig, Nkunku scored 23 goals and provided 6 assists in the 36 games he participated in.

After not receiving enough opportunities at Paris Saint-Germain, the club where he developed, Nkunku decided to make the leap to the Bundesliga. During his four seasons at Leipzig, he showed a good performance and in recent years excelled in a more advanced position.

He became a goalscorer

With this, he has showcased his goalscoring ability, tallying his numbers in the last two seasons. The young forward has scored a total of 53 goals, considering all competitions. The salary has not been revealed yet, but it is estimated that he will receive an improved salary compared to the 3 million EUR per year he earned at RB Leipzig.
